You may need to use a thinner oil like NH134 in cold weather. If you change the oil be sure to prime the pump.

Guess I was lucky, just replaced all the hoses and rebuilt the two lift cylinders on my Loader. Tractor sat for almost a week without a drop of oil in the rear-end. Filled it up and after cycling the loader a few times everything works great. No symptoms of air in the system and this was without bleeding the pump.

There is a plug, Usually a large allen bolt, at the rear of the pump. Loosen the plug but don't take it out. Pull the fuel shutoff out so the engine won't crank. Now spin the engine and at the same time loosen the plug until fluid runs out. Do that until you see no air bubbles then tighten the plug.

If you stop spinning the engine before you tighten the bolt air will be drawn back into the system. I used to just remove the plug and have a helper (my wife) spin the engine. It's easier to watch the flow. But it is a messy job.

I've read here that some people do this with the engine running and I tried that. But that pump is putting out so much pressure I couldn't get the bolt back in that way.

Afterwards your hydraulics should work fine. If they do for a while or a few days then get air back in the system you likely have a pump that needs attention.
