of this page under "Galleries" and "Tractor Photos". Look at the 1962 and 1964 2000's. Is that what yours looks like?

that"s the problem! if you look at those photos some have the flat top grill and some have the medallion. the pics of the lcg tractors all seem to have the medallion, like mine. but mine is not an lcg. the 62,63,64 ag tractors all seem to have the flat top grill but mine doesn"t. from what i understand, from the serial numbers mine has (21201) it is the ag model. the pics of the industrials also seem to have the medallion. who knows????

According to the model number decoder in the I&T manual the first "1" in your model indicates an ag or industrial model produced in 1963 or later. The date codes you found indicate August 1962. When does the new model year start for tractors? Was Ford building 1963 model tractors in Aug 1962 like they do with the autos? It appears so. As Doug Hayes stated you may have one of the very first 2000's made and Ford was still using up all of the old sheet metal they had on hand.

i have no manuals to tell me any of this but, according to all the serial number data i have found on the net the set of numbers under the model number -7904- would indicate a 62 model. unless i'm mistaken this site and a few others say the 63 model started at 11*** something.

Jim.UT- can you help us here? in reply to stormhunter, 02-20-2006 08:22:11
I believe Jim.UT has the serial number breakdowns for monthly production. Maybe he will jump in here and help. If he doesn't see this post a question for him.
