Re: late 5000 spin on oil filter

That filter was known as the Ford 300 Dual. I've always used Ford/NewHolland filters, which are presently sourced from FleetGuard. That filter was used on all 3 cylinder and most of the natural 4 cylinders up to late 91 when they introduced the Genesis engines.
I believe the Motorcraft number was FL1A. Fram was PH8A. Wix is 51515.... Now my local NAPA mostly sells Wix filters, but they can cross to NAPA I think. Seems to me that the NAPA numbers run closely to WIX for some reason? For what it's worth, my local Baldwin dealer can also find the filter by application.... Dunno if any of that helps. I've given you every number but the NAPA....

If it is wix 51515. .. then it is a napa 1515.

Funny that the napa application data base shows a 1714 and not a 1515 ( my NAA and 850 use the 1515 / ph8a / fl1 oil filters.. )

Humm.. I'm in a delima I guess... I hope I'm not using an oil filter that will damage my engine in some way..
