What do you want us to measure?

The 14" can be measured on the frame of your plow, the width of the cut of one bottom. The share itself will be longer since they sit at an angle, and should cut a bit more than the 14". In fact on my JD 4-16 plow I found a 18" share that matched the hole pattern, & it does a good job of cutting off roots & making up errors in my plowing...

Plows from different years or bottom styles can have different bolt patterns, etc. You could use your plow model/serial number to get shares, but I find it easiest to just take an old one off & take it along to the nearest farm supply store & match up one that fits.

Yes, I can "guess" it and come close by measuring from the landside of the back bottom over, but I figured I'd see if anyone had a 14" sod-type plow share that they could measure.

Your NH dealer should be able to list out the part numbers of different shares available for you, if indeed different sizes are available. If he can't, look for another NH dealer. You can also go to a farm supply store & look up what is available from their suppliers. 'Weise' (I think that's the spelling?) seems to be the big supplier of plow parts around me to all the farm stores. You will have to be real careful to get the right kind, because different plows might have very different bolt patterns. But don't just go by what is on the shelf, most of the stores have the parts book laying around for you to look up what you need.

I guess I'm just thick headed today, but I'm not sure what good it will do you to know the length of the actual share. I couldn't use that to order the parts I would need, so I'm not sure how it will help you?

I can't (or don't want) to just cut them off to match my old shares because the old shares are "rock" shares - shorter than "sod" shares. Rock share have kind of a "check mark" cut on the end and sod shares are straight (well, at an angle).

So, what I'm trying to find out is how long a 14" share (sod share) for a ford 2-bottom plow should be. Once I know this, I can cut off my 16" shares to the correct length.
