Farmall: Sounds like you have an IH-Ronning harvester from the late thirties. Most of the field harvesters of that period used elevators because tractors didn't have enough power to cut and blow so they used an elevator with some poor bozo in the wagon forking all this stuff out of the way. Up until then it was a corn binder for corn or mower and rake for hay. Haylage never really got going until the harvesters had good blowers and people learned how to make haylage. One fellow around here got out an old Massey Harris harvester, buckled it onto his 44 and conned me into getting on the wagon to do some corn. I lasted about three rounds and the tractor was way overheated by then. The thing drove like an anchor. Godd Luck with it and like any harvester be exceeding careful. Tom
