Glow plugs were factory fitted on Banner Lane (UK) produced tractors with the 23C engine from 1959 onwards. Maybe some export markets remained without?
While the Perkins starts much better, I would prefer the Standard engine if I want the tractor for show or playing. It runs much smoother and quiter due to its four cylinder. Engines with a strain number of cylinders will always run smoother. But for work a Perkins modell will be the best. Parts are available through Sparex-UK - are they in the Staates too?- or the major UK Ferguson parts dealer. Look at www.fofh.u-net.com for them. The 20C engine was used in the TE-F while the later 23C was used in the Ferguson 35s and early MF35s.
