Hmmm. Something is definantley wrong with your picture Dan!!! OH NO..my wife i going to kill me. I appreciate your input and it looks like I need to split this thing again. My gear is only exposed about 2/3rd to 3/4th of the way - more on the left side looking at mount hole. But pointing as you described. What could I have done wrong? Anybody else care to shed some light on this. Am I about to pay stupid tax twice by having to take him down again?

Can you take a pic of the gear installed or describe what angle it is sitting?

Dan

No picture required on this one Dan. Just as I thought and your photo confirmed I had installed the hyd pump gear backwards. It was barely rubbing the cover plate and only had about 2/3rds of gear face showing. I reversed the gear and it still pointed the same direction as you had described and just like the paper model I sketched - I love helical gears!! LOL - Oh well - it was the first thing I put on the engine after I got the cam in newly sleeved block - overly anxious I suppose. Lesson learned and it did come apart alot easier the second time! Thanks again for your support and feedback. More later as I have to put engine back on tomorrow - oh BTW - I did get a new pressure plate and will get newer flywheel. Yeah! Trying to reduce the odds of having to go back a third time.

Be careful -
