The parts catalog lists 8N6763-B as oil tube, 9N, 2N, 8N, 1939 - 1950, 5 1/2 inches long. It doesn't list ANYTHING for 1950 - 1952. I checked my 2N and 8N. Both have a pipe that's about 8 inches (if I followed the curve) from the flat of the boss to the top. Add another inch or so for what's stuck into the engine.
The pictures in the parts book show a curved OUTWARDS pipe for up to 1950, i.e., frontmount distributor. When the 8N went to side mount distributor, the picture shows a SHORTER pipe that curves UPWARDS.
I would GUESS the 8N6763-B is actually the 5 1/2 inch pipe and perhaps a 9N part number or maybe 8N6763-A is for a taller (8 inch) pipe.
Now we're fishin' in the dark, ain't we?
Russ

Re: DIP STICK in reply to Greg Lasher, 11-13-2005 17:53:01
I followed the directions on the
dip stick and found that my pressure
would fall off to 10 or so PSI after
a short warm up. After I changed the oil and put in
the correct amount the pressure stays
at 30 PSI
