A lot of folks talk about using 8 volt battery to help them start easier, but at the same time they seem to be usually writing in to ask why their coil burned out, or why the battery won't stay charged, stuff like that. I don't think its the answer. Better to just fix whatever is wrong that is preventing the tractor from working with the 6 volts it was designed for.

I tend to agree. My tractor has just been restored (20/20 restoration) but has all new wiring and electrical components. My battery problem is the crap I've been buying at TSC. They won't hold a charge due to bad cells. It will take a charge but won't keep it. When you check with hydrometer no balls floated in any of the cells in a 1 year old battery. I just needed to find a better battery.

I wish I could get some answers about batterys also.I"ve been told that there are only 2 or 3 battery mfg"s left and they make batteries for all and DEKA is one of them? I know The largest Motor cycle group in The world voted DEKA the best.So if anyone knows ??? how many true MFGS there are and who they are I"d like to know
