Gin pole storage? Indoor model rocketry? Trampoline competitions?

Just kidding. Silage is known intellectually down here, but few have any practical experience of it.

Almost everyone finds it easier and more cost effective to plant wheat, oats, or other winter forage.

In all of Central Texas, I know of only one old-fashioned silo still standing, although there must be others I don't know about.

In addition, I see more modern structures from time to time at feed lots, dairy operations, etc., that I think were at least designed to hold silage.

Tall building?..... .you mean that red-top thingy?..... .air-breather cover for thru-the-hood airfilter extension of 2N's. (grin)

As for silage, most now use chopp-harvested ground pit-silage with plastic tarp weighted down with old tires. Then they can frontend loader feedmix for the dairy string or feedlot. Intensive farming at it best..... ..Dell, I miss seeing cows gittin' drunk on silo silage squeezin's fermentation, whoo-doggies (giggle)
