Do the test again, wet and dry. If you still get unsatisfactory results (and I suspect you will)...

I usually have the sleeves AND the pistons/rings AND the valves all done at the same time.

Sometimes you can get away with just doing one or the other, or some combination of two of the three, but often an engine that suddenly has good comprssion at the rings will demonstrate previously unnoticed valve trouble, or vice versa.

The problem is, by then the car or tractor is all put back together and it is usually HEARTBREAKING to have to tear everything apart again.

Remember, in the long run it's always easier to do it RIGHT than do it OVER.
