You can do away with the switch.There is an outfit in Texas that makes Delco 12 volt starters for Belarus's.We put one on our 820,starts just as good with the 2 12 volt batteries hooked together.Plus if you need the starter worked on again you can have it fixed at your local shop,the only thing on the starter thats Russian is the drive.

Website is www.aabkelleyind.com. Just googled belarus starter texas and it came up.Also,check your polarity,every Belarus I've ever seen has been negative ground.
