I have a 1941 Holder w/2-cycle Sachs Diesel. This engine runs fine, and seems to be in good timing. I am NOT a diesel mechanic, but would be willing to help in some way if I can. I use the tractor for light garden work and to plow snow.

This is a very rare tractor - anything I can do to help?

- Ed.

Hi,

A little bit late maybe, do you have a picture of your Holder tractor? Maybe I can see what type it is.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Niels den Boer

I have a Holder that I inherited from my uncle. It is such a neat piece of equipment. It has a tiller, a hillside plow (both of these are manufactured by Holder), a bush hog, a corn planter and some cultivators. The tractor had not cranked for the last seven years when I finally was given the unique Bosch key. At that time I had no instruction books, they were found two years later in perfect condition for a paperback that was printed in the early 60's. The manual and parts list was in four languages. I had figured out most of the controls and what to do to keep the tractor serviced prior to getting the manuals but it was great to know I was on the right track as I had used it guite a bit. I was amazed, after sitting for so long it nearly cranked off of the old fuel when I was just trying to find out where the starter was located. The first button I pushed which looked like a starter button, after I got the dirt dobber nest out of the key way, I learned was a horn! Amazing, about the time americans started putting roll bars on our tractors, the germans started putting turn signals on theirs...complete with a trailer plug under the seat. It is a pretty stout little tractor. the two cylinder unit, the AM-2 has 23 horsepower. Going through the 4 wheel drive of the same sized tires really allows the tractor to perform beyond normal expectations. Don't know if I can help anyone with any problems you may have but I will be glad to discuss it. Bruce Guy, Thomasville, NC
