Okay, you are painting and then notice that you have a run in the job. Is there something you can do right then to correct this?

Neat link, looks like it would work good (if you take your time!, but then again if you do that you don't usually get runs!) ;-)

I try to put the air right to the run. If I only pull my trigger down half way, just air comes out. It at least blends it in a little and makes it look more like orange peel than a run.

Unlikely. You'll just makes things worse if you try. If you didn't use a catalyzed paint (with hardener) then you probably have a significant problem that is not easily corrected - a lot depends on the actual paint and its recoat period. If you did use a hardener, then you might want to review my previously posted opinion on the matter in this thread.
