They only stick to the ground where I plow to the dirt for them to lay and eat on. Then the cow pies will stick good being nice and wet at first. Other wise they freeze off the ground and not a problem. I had to clean the barn today! Mark H.

Shouldn't they lay on the snow in this weather? Better insulation than the cold ground???

Mine will lay on an old bale first, snow second, dirt third, and rarely lay on the concrete when it is this cold when given choices. Bout the same for feeding.

Of course, we only have an inch of snow this year, and when we have more on a normal year (40 inches or so) it gets whipped into a hard bank, perhaps you get a different snowfall.....

They have straw in the barn if they want to lay in there. It seems they like the cleared area when the suns out. Since I have to clear it to do the barn they all go out and stand or lay in it when I am done? Mark H.
