Is it possible you have a 540 rpm machine with a 1000 rpm shaft on it,with 1000rpm shaft in the tractor? If so, the blades will really twirl at low engine rpm.

Yeah but there are some mechnical dynamics to that, that is disadvantagouse. Mainly is the the fact that at 540 RPMS you are producing twice the torque as the 1000 RPM for the same give amount of HP. Think about it a 540 RPM PTO has the same Torque as a 100 RPM 6030!!!

Excuse me that last sentence is supposed to read...

The 540 PTO of a 4020 would have the same Torque as a 1000 PRM PTO 6030!!
