Hi Steven,

I've been here over 10yrs and I know Kim has put the vote to the members three times in that 10yrs as to keep what software were using or move on to newer software.

All three times most of the members voted to keep the old software, BTW software that was written/designed by Kim is what were using.

I don't see how much more fair Kim can be. It's the members that like the software were using.

Me, it's whatever is easist for Kim to take care of that suits me. I like it just fine the way it is.

I don't disagree with you at all, T_Bone, and I also get along just fine with what we have and appreciate everything that Kim does for the site. But the fact still remains that the younger guys that are new around here are probably used to the v_bulletin type software that bounces the hot topics back to the top, and most likely prefer that.

I personally like the software where you can click on "get new posts" and it shows everything that has had new information since your last visit, etc. I also like being able to have an avatar, attach a signature, etc.

Isn't it nice to have a place where we can carry on these discussions?

Hi Steven,

Well I do aggree to a certin exent. thedieselstop.com would be a good example as it uses the latest v-bulletin software.

For several years you could find many good discussions going on at any time with anything that had to do with a Ford truck with fairly factual info.

Now what you see there is a bunch of kids that have very little knowledge on any of the topics but let a person with knowledge try's to steer the info back to correctness and the youngsters gang up on the one user with correct info to where the new guy is given the wrong info. I personaly don't visit that website very much any longer for that reason alone. It's been that way for the past 3yrs.

My point? It don't matter what software is used, it's the members that make the website work. And yes it is nice to have a place to have the discusions.
