The td-6 has the same engine as an MD. It starts on gas then you switch it to diesel. The engine should have both a distributor and an injection pump. They are however on opposite sides of the engine. The injection pump will be an inline pump. It is an IH engine, which is used in a MD, WD-6, ID-6, OD-6, and a Ud-6 stationary engine. I don't have a serial # book handy, so I can't help with aging it. If it does not run, the head should be checked for cracks. That is very common to see cracked heads on the gas start diesel run engines. I hope this helps you a little. JW
