The engine kicking back when you shut it off in direct drive will not harm the TA side because all turns together in direct drive the worst thing on the TA is not warming the tractor up before using TA and not shifting properly never use down hill never pull into TA after staring down hill when you shaft make sure yhe speed is right and the shaft should be done quick that is why the newer tractors have over center TA levers so all you have to do is bump the lever use Hy-tran for oil
