I have read all the comments on this thread and agree with everything. I have a '50 Super AV, orginal condition, stuck engine, basicly a worn out 50 year old tractor. However, I breaking it down to the last bolt and will completely rebuild her to show condition. I have never done anything like this,(I even hate to change the oil in the cars) but I'm really enjoying the challenge. Sure I will cost me a small fortune, but as one of you guys said "it keeps me out of the bars" not that I had that problem before. Some of you may ask "Why?" Well, the tractor did belong to my grandfather, who is now dead. It was given to me by my uncle, another good point. But most of all these tractors deserve a place of pride and honor. Restoring them just makes sense. Most of the time I work on her I don't know what I'm doing, but I ask questions here (ytmag) and co-workers who have restored cars, trucks, and tractors before. Whenever I have a asked a question on ytmag I always got good and honest answers, maybe not what I wanted to hear, but a lot of help anyway. On this chat board I have met a lot of good natured, and very helpful people, some very close to where I live. Keep those answers coming! If the one asking doesn't find the information usefull, someone else always will.
