You need rings. Your cub should push 120 psi out of each cylinder at normal crank speed. My cub was doing the same thing. LOts of blow by through the breather, not much power. Pulled the pistons out. The stock compression rings measured .080 ring gap!! I couldnt believe it was running as good as it was. After a new set of rings it feels like a totally new tractor. Its a simple job to do in your own garage. Mill the head for more compression while your at it.You can mill a cub head .070 without valves hitting.
