Super C H Help Needed (LONG)

Hello to all!
New reader here, and a recent convert/victim
to the restoration/collecting game! :-)
I recently came into possession of an "H" and
a "Super C" after my grandfather died. I don't
have a clue as to what I'm really looking at to
begin with. Both were used fairly regularly,
though dwindling off rapidly in the past 10-15
years as he became less able to get around and
for the past few years haven't done anything more
than sit in the shed and gather dust.
I have no idea how old they really area, so
for starters, where do I look to find the SN#'s?
Once I find these, I know that I can figure out
their age.
Is there a reference that I can get hold of
that might be able to tell me if they are worth
restoring? I know that both ran when he last used
them, so I know there wasn't anything obvious
wrong with them. Not being around all the time, I
cannot vouch for what kind or how often
maintenance was done. Oil, lube, etc. I know that
the one has an electric short somewhere in the
alternator/generator, as it won't keep a charge if
left sit for a while. As long as you run it
regualarly, it keeps a charge fine, so I know it's
charging, but give it several days, and you'll
have to put it on the charger.
I think the tires are original on both, so I'm
cringing at the thought of how much that'll cost.
I don't know if I want to go to full restoration,
or what, but after finding this list, I'm
intrigued! :-)

Hope to hear from someone soon!

Jerry
