C ignition problem ----HELP

My Farmall C has a rough time turning over. I thought it was the battery or starter and replaced both. Then replaced points, condensor, rotor, distributor cap and spark plugs. When I have all plug wires unhooked it turns over just fine, like any other engine. But when I put even just one plug up near the block to make spark it seems like it is grounding out and has a real hard time turning over. It happens when I've put all plugs in and just undo the wire coming from the switch to coil. What I've done to get it to run is get the starter turning the engine then, using a jumper lead, hook the coil up and it will start. I'm not real sure its the coil because typically when I've replace coils on any other engine it was because it produced little or no spark and this seems to have a real strong spark.
Any help is appreciated.
