First, what kind of hydraulic system does your H have? Is it the original "lift-all" or "belly pump" unit with the control rod to the right of the light switch? That's the most likely, with another possibility being someone has added "live" hydraulics with a pump ahead of the distributor. If you have the lift-all system, it has 3 ports, two on the left side, and one on the right side of the tractor. These are 1/2" pipe ports and are all pressure ports. When the control lever is pulled, pressure is applied to all three ports. When the control lever is returned to mid-position (with the litle tab on the bottom of the rod just above the support bracket) the flow is stopped. When the rod is pushed completely forward, pressure is released, and the oil returns to the pump throught he same ports it came out of. There is a little more to this pump, in that the rear port on the left side is designed to be a delayed-action port for lifting the rear gang of cultivators, but that's not too important at this point. Second, how many cylinders are on the 3pt hitch? If you only have one, simply connect the cylinder to that left-rear port so pressure will extend the cylinder to lift the hitch. If you have two cylinders, one on each side of the hitch, use the front-left port and the right-side port. In each case, the system will lift the hitch, and gravity will lower it. This type of system needs a "breather" of some sort installed in the other end of the cylinder(s) to let air in and out as the cylinder extends and retracts. These are availble (pretty cheap) at your local farm supply store. The other possibility is to add more hose and plumb the other end of the cylinder to the fill port, though this is not necessary. Hope this helps. If this doesn't make sense, post some more questions!
