I have not worked on a BN, but I would expect the splines to just pull out like the others do. The main shaft will pull out of the clutch and you will see what to do after you remove the torque tube. It sounds like a plan to me.

A more important thing is safety. You should be able to do it, but it would be best to get help from someone who has done this kind of work. You will be dealing with unstable, heavy parts that will try to hurt you. Please don't try to hurry.
