"naturally aspirated" means there is no mechanical device, such as a turbo or supercharger, to increase intake manifold pressure. On a NA engine, the fuel charge is drawn in by the vacuum created when the pistons are on the down stroke, and the entire intake tract is under a vacuum, usually 17-20 inches of mercury at idle. A turbo or supercharged engine puts the intake under positive pressure (8-10 PSI on a street engine at full boost) which crams more air into the cylinder, increasing power.
