I went through my generator last year everything is very very clean and I have new brushes. In the past I could open the dust cover and spray a little contact cleaner in it and it would start charging. Well today I said what the heck, I didn't have any contact cleaner so I sprayed a little, and I mean very little WD40 in it, it started charging to beat the band. If it does like it has in the past it will keep charging for a week or so or about 4hr of running time. Now if I can just figure the connection between spraying it and it charging I'll be all set. haha
