Wide front position

I was looking at my M today and have got the notion to move the wide front from the short wheelbase position to the long wheelbase postion. It looks fairly straightforward, except for the bars that go back from the pivot housing to the frame rails. They are bolted to the bottom of the frame rails using a hole in the bottom of the rail. No such holes exist for the long wheelbase postion. Any ideas? I am hoping that I do not have to make the holes, I don't want a long wheelbase that bad.
