My answer was going to be basicly the same as Norm. From 1948 through the S line of 1956 International pickups had the most solid bodies in the industry. If you find any old junk 48-56 International pickup in a junk yard, I can almost guarantee you that the body is still solid. In 1957 with the introduction of the A line (which is the same body you have) they threw away all they had ever known about body building for the sake of style and in one year went from the best, nost solid body in the industry to the sorriest body in the industry. However, if you can keep the cab patched together, the rest of the truck is excellent and tough. The IH V8 of the era in either 266, 304, or 345 cu in seem to last forever and the 1200 has a real tough 3/4 ton frame and running gear. So what it boils down to, if you don't mind rattles and the doors shaking, etc, it is a very reliable and tough pickup. Parts are resonably easy to come by. Harold H
