The cloudy oil sounds like it may have some moisture in it. Not unusual, some folks just change it when that happens, some like to flush first by filling the transmission with kerosene or diesel fuel and drive it around. then replace with fresh 90wt gear oil. The other post is right, if the noise is just gear whine it's not going to hurt anything. Sometimes, I put a can of STP in with the 90wt when I change transmission oil, it helps with the whine somewhat. Don't overfill, just until it comes out the check plug on the left side.
