As far as I know, the official color was always gray until Nov 1, 1936, when it switched to red. But IH tended to buy paint from a lot of suppliers, and there are indications that quality varied widely before 1934. IH of course, would paint the tractor any color the customer wanted for a fee. Dealerships were known to do some interesting things with paint, and of course customers did interesting things too.
