You only put a small amount of oil in it. Are you following the instructions for filling?? Fill with oil with the fill opening in the horizontal position. Then turn the fill opening down and let the excess oil drain out. There is a standpipe on the inside that causes the chamber to retain the proper amount of oil. Also make sure you have a good washer under the screw that closes the fill hole. Also, I think there is a gasket on the fan hub that could be leaking.
