Gentlemen - I have a 1942 Farmall "A" that I restored about 6 years ago. I use it for fine mowing, pushing snow and dragging the trailers around. I used it to mow last Thursday and, as usual, it performed flawlessly. However, on Saturday, we were trimming trees and using it to drag the branches to the burn pile, and it starting acting up. It acted like it was running lean (cutting out) and now will only run with the choke about 3/4 or full on. The choke situation leads me to believe it is fuel related. I pulled the carb and checked for fuel flow - its got a good stream of fuel. I pulled the carb apart but it looks clean and new inside (it is a new Zenith from when I restored it). I tried adjusting the idle air mix screw and the fuel mixture screw but neither had any effect like they usually do. Any thoughts? Thanks for a great forum.
