A few day ago I was operatiing my Farmall Super A. After it had been running for about five minutes there was an electrical fire in the compartment behind the ampmeter and switches. The wires were burned and the ampmeter was as well. The light switch and the ignition switch are undamaged. I am thinking that the fire was caused by a short, caused in turn when two wires rubbing together rubbed their insulation away and touched. But is it possible that a voltage regulator might stick, somehow, so that the current from the generator would not have been properly regulated and the ampmeter might have burned out? I am very hesitant to start fooling arround with the adjusting screws in the voltage regulator. It's only two years old, by the way, and seemed to be operating fine.
