I bought a Farmall 140 to use in the summer to mow my yard and to plow some snow in the winter. The tractor did not come with a mower. I am trying to decide wether to go with the Woods L59 (60") or the L306 (72"). The tractor currently is set with the wheels as narrow as they can go. It measures 55.5" at the back tires. If I flip the tires to increase the stability, as my wife has really taken a liking to driving this tractor, the width will increase by 4" per side or a total of 8". This will have me running over 2" or more of uncut grass on each side of the tractor with the L59. The L306 costs about $350 more than the L59. I am also concerned about having to mow around trees and flower beds with a 6' deck. I am planning on keeping this tractor for this purpose so I want to ensure I get the right equipment the first try. Any advice on which mower to go with or wether I need to be concerned with the stability factor would be greatly appreciated.
