Hey guys, Spring is here and my tractor doesn't run...PROBLEM! I've been doing a major reassembly, and am up to the point of getting the wiring in order. By the way, I have a Farmall 300 Row Crop. The tractor was already converted to 12 volt when I got it, but it appears to be a pretty rough job. The ignition switch was bad and had a push button switch wired to it. You needed to turn the key to on and then push the button to start the tractor. My problems start with me getting a different switch that I know works... Here are my most immediate questions. The tractor has a 3 wire delco alternator but only the battery terminal was used and there was/is a rubber plug over the two spade terminals, can anyone explain why this is this way? The old voltage regulator is still on the tractor. The orange and blue leads that I assume went to the generator were taped up, where should these go? Can I get rid of the old voltage regulator? What do I do with the wires that go to the voltage regulator? There is no ballast resistor that I can see anywhere, and the coil is definitely not original, I assume this is a 12 volt coil, negating the need for the ballast resistor. How can I tell if it is indeed a 12 volt coil? Any help, advice, suggestions, support, wiring diagrams, counseling....(you get the idea!) would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Thor

That was 10 years before I was born, so I grew up thinking that 8N was the world's best tractor. Grandpa had greenhouses, with over half an acre under glass, and that 8N did almost everything. It was the only
