Paul - By trial and error I determined the spacer needed to be 3/16" thick - it's #2 in the pile in the photo. But recall I only needed to make the space because someone ahead of me had neglected to replace the original when they had it apart before. The spacer had to be installed on TOP of the bearing, just like shown in the parts catalog. Regarding the sector gear, it's on a tapered spline. Unfortunately that prevents installing it upside to take care of wear - would have been nice if it could have been turned over to compensate for wear! ...Bob M
