A 140 is an excellent tractor for a belly mower. They work great with a 5 ft Woods mower which you can get new. You will need to make sure the tractor you get has the belt pulley attachment, because it is best to run the mower off that, although you can run it off the PTO. With the Woods mower, you do not need an overrunning clutch. There is not enough inertia in the blades to push the tractor. To use the tractor on hills, set the wheels out as much as possible to not cause a problem with running over unmowed grass. With the 5 ft mower, dish the wheels in, but set the rims as far out on the wheels as possible. That is about 2 inches wider than 5 ft, but does not cause a problem. Also, wheel weights and solution in the tires will help the stability. I used one on fairly steep ground here in East Tenn for 18 years. Also always keep the heavy cast rear wheel on the the righthand side it is there to counterbalance the tractor offset. To get a good 140, you will likely have to pay at least $3000 to $4000. That's what they go for around here.
