Thanks for all the responses. Rick I did as you suggested as the last step before posting the question. I cranked with the starter about 5-10 seconds past pressure showing on the guage while I had the whole rocker assy, sparkplugs, and the hollow stud removed. I never got oil from that passage. I hate the thought of pulling it apart again, but it makes sense that the pressure should be there quicker than this. So I will go slow and see what turns up.
