Decal Question for Guy Fay

I purchased your new book to help with the restoration of my Super MTA Diesel tractor. The book is excellent! I have one question regarding decal placement location. Your book shows the "DIESEL" decal located on the lower hood. The present decal on the tractor is located back on the fuel tank. I can't say with 100% certainty, but I believe the decal is original. I have also seem old photographs in other tractor books showing the decal back on the tank. Are both locations correct? Is one location more correct than the other?
