help to fix a dumb mistake

I should use a flase name this my best foul-up todate The farmall 300 was in a bind and hung up between gears no problem as always when this happens I removed the shift lever and fixed the problem by relineing the shifters thats good .How ever I dropped the rod that I was using and it fell down the transmission and rearend It sounded like it went all the way to the bottom clunk.I hopr that I don,t have to remove the top of the whole thing to get the punch back.Please help with the short cut that you all know.Thank for any help that you might give Tom
