Finally got a manual and got the Super A timed correctly. After installing the timing cover and the governor, I put the front crank pulley in the oven at 200F for about 20 mins. I then took a 8 lb sledge and a block of wood and tapped the pulley onto the crank shaft. The problem that I am running into is that the pulley is not completely seated. If I put a straight edge on the crank pulley, it is misaligned from the fan pulley by about 3/8 of an inch. When I tap on the end of the crank pulley with the block of wood and the sledge, it sounds like things are pretty solid. My next thought was to screw a bolt into the center of the end of the crank and finish pulling the pulley on that way. Does anyone know the size of the bolt? What have the rest of you done on this in the past? Am I hurting anything by tapping the crank pulley on the end of the crankshaft?
