Super M losing spark

i am workin on a Super M at the moment and the tractor had a 6 volt set up but it wasn't enough to turn the starter to my liking, so i converted it to 12 volt, i had done one like this earlier this year and it works great, but when i got to this one i can start it and it starts great, but as soon as i let off of the starter button, it quits, it run great when i hold the starter button down, but once i release that it quits, the tractor cracks right off right away but liek i said once i release the starter button it will die, i'd appreciate any info on the wiring set up, or any solutions you all might have, thanks Chris
