Always a hard call trying to establish value when trading with friends. Even if you dont mean to, you stand the chance of offending her, and it is almost certain someone will say you tried to steal it from her no matter what you offer. If I were in your shoes, I would make her put the price on it. My opinion of the value would be somewhere between 150.00 and 350.00 not really being able to know for sure what has been done and how long ago. So much depends on your situation also. If you have a tractor you arent able to use until you find a replacement engine, the value would be on the higher side. If you are simply thinking of haveing a spare engine sitting in the corner, the value would be less. Good Luck

Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
