Here are the steps I used on an H, LoBoy, B, and a 9N:
1 Sandblast or wire brush, and sand with 220.
2 Clean with acetone.
3 Spray with Extend rust converter.
4 Fill pits with spray Kilz brand primer/surfacer.
5 Sand out with 220.
What's left would be the pits filled and bare metal.
6 Prime with PPG epoxy primer (red of course).
7 Scuff with a scotchbrite pad.
8 Paint. Use acrylic urethane from PPG.
