I'm no expert in the value of the engine. However if I could find one like the one you describe I'd check it out a bit, pull the oil pan and it should be clean. pull the plugs and get a flash light and look in you can see the cylinder wall on the back side it should have cross hatch if the engine was rebuilt. If it was rebuilt or even overhauled I'd give $250.00 in a minute...because MY H engine is really sick. If you buy this engine I'd think about pulling the bearings and putting in some assembly lube befor trying to run it, it has been sitting for and awfully long time and those bearing have to be needing some lubrication.
