I was basically on track, the PTO driven gear had to slide forward 1/2 inch, then the clutch shaft bearing collar had to slide forward 1/4 inch (using a slide hammer), then the drive spline comes out the top. Now that it's apart, I see that this all happened because a bolt that holds the forward drive spline to the transmission input shaft came loose. This let the spline slide forward and made engagememt tenuous. Then the bolt fell out all the way and eventually got into harm's way in between the splines and they eventually must have all gotten ground off. That must have sounded awful! There doesn't seem to be any other obvious damage though. I wonder if I'm lucky or missing something. Klaus Now: Where to buy parts?
