With the TA in high range, the tractor will move at the normal gear speeds. With the TA in low, it reduces the gear speeds by 34%, slowing you down but giving you more torque. Your tractor's serial # will be on the clutch housing. Here's a link to www.tractortips.com's serial number list for the 340. Make sure you know weather you have a Farmall 340 or an International 340 first. You can check this by looking what it says on the side panels or by looking at the model # on the serial # plate: F-340= Farmall, I-340= International.
