Mowing hay that has been knocked down by rain.

My small stand of hay is nowing laying over on it side near the ground after we had torrential down pours here this last week. I was getting ready to mow, but now I need to let things dry up a little and then get into the field. I have just an old sickle bar mower on the back of my Super A to mow with. What kind of experience have each of you had in mowing in this kind of conditions? Any recommendations? I am not baling, just putting the hay up loose for the goats and some beef.
