Super A stalls under load

My 51 Super A has driven a Woods mower deck for the last 2 years with no problems. Last week, I hooked the one bottom little wonder plow behind it to do some plowing. I had problems when the tractor pulled up the slightest of grades with it stalling out. The only way that i could save it was to push in the clutch and it would run fine. If I was going in the downhill direction, and I mean very slightly downhill, there was no problem. Any ideas what is wrong?
